Of Deception.

Assalamu'alaikum.

Okay, so I am no poet but here's a little something I made.

Of Deception. 

Intelligent we claim to be
Oblivious that we are tricked to believe and see
All this dunya as the ultimate goal to achieve
Striving for fame and so-called popularity
In the eyes of the public we want to be deemed the symbol of nobility
Despite neglecting our role as a servant of the Almighty
Blinded by the raging yearn for wealth and beauty
In our tiny minds success is determined by where we stand in the social hierarchy
So as the digits in our bank accounts increase in number
Smugly we assume our lives has begun to prosper
Abandoning the fact our arrogance has started growing stronger
Instead meekly feeding our nafs with worldly praise to cure their hunger
Unaware that submission to Him is what the soul truly longs for
You see, to drown in ignorance is a likely situation
Unless we choose to snap out of this state of delusion
Turning to no other but Him to obtain the perfect solution
And escape from falling victim to shaitaan's deception.
